Engineering and planning tenders in Switzerland

Public tenders for engineering, planning and architecture services in Switzerland, with current deadlines and full sources. Titles and summaries are translated into English. The official notices are published in German or French, and each detail page links to them on simap.ch.

Overview

Engineering and planning tenders cover CPV division 71: civil and structural engineering, architecture, building services design for electrical and HVAC systems, environmental and geotechnical engineering, transport and hydraulic planning, surveying, site supervision and inspection work. Buyers tender planning mandates for single buildings or structures, framework agreements for recurring tasks, and general planner mandates across several disciplines. They include the Federal Roads Office (ASTRA) and other federal offices, cantonal civil engineering and building departments, towns and municipalities, transport operators, energy and water utilities, and hospitals and universities with their own building projects. By number of notices, this division is one of the largest groups on simap.ch.

Context

Most mandates go through the open procedure, and larger projects often through the selective procedure with prequalification. You will also see planner selection procedures, study contracts and design competitions under the SIA 142 and 143 rules, which run differently from a standard tender. The scope is usually described by the partial phases of the SIA service models, from preliminary design through building project and tendering to construction and commissioning, often with options for later phases. Fees are offered either on a time basis, with hourly rates per category, or as a lump sum; the documents say which.

What matters

Planning services are judged heavily on references and people. Eligibility criteria ask for reference projects of comparable size and complexity from recent years, both for the firm and for the key people, usually the overall project lead and the specialist planners. Among the award criteria, the analysis of the brief, the approach and the team often weigh more than the price. Joint ventures of planners are common; each partner then has to provide its own evidence, and the lead firm must be named clearly. The question forum on simap is the place to clarify phase boundaries, the client's own contribution and options before you calculate.

With Sealio

Sealio extracts requirements, evidence and dates from the documents, shows the mandatory criteria and reports new planning tenders in your disciplines and cantons. For the go or no-go decision, an early check pays off: do your references match the type of building or structure, are the key people available for all the phases asked for, and can you produce the brief analysis and the offer within the deadline? The practical guide for bidders explains procedures, deadlines and submission in detail.
