Overview

This page collects the supply contracts that belong to no other industry page: laboratory, measuring and precision equipment, machinery and tools, furniture and fittings, office and communication equipment outside IT, clothing, food, agricultural machinery, and raw materials and supplies. Medical, security, vehicle and electrical equipment have their own pages. Buyers are federal offices and the army, cantons, towns and municipalities, hospitals, schools, universities and research institutes, and transport and utility companies.

Context

Above the thresholds, supplies are tendered in the open or selective procedure, often as framework agreements over several years with lots by product group or site. Delivery, assembly, training and maintenance are often part of the contract, and for equipment and machinery also the warranty, spare parts and service over the product's life. The specification must be product-neutral; when a product is named, the words "or equivalent" apply, and equivalence has to be shown with data sheets.

What matters

Besides price, buyers usually score how well the technical requirements are met, delivery times, service and response times, sustainability and the cost over the product's life. Mandatory criteria are exclusion criteria: missing a single minimum requirement rules the offer out. Samples, trial installations or demonstrations are sometimes required and must be ready within the bid period.
