Mit der Beschaffung der neuen Dienstwagen Xa731-741 werden Arbeitsgeräte neu in Modulbauweise benötigt. Unter anderem sollen die beiden Kräne die fix auf die Wagen X701 und X703 aufgebaut sind ersetzt werden. Die Beschaffung umfasst Konstruktion Bau, Inbetriebnahme und Zulassung zusammen mit den Dienstwagen Xa731-741. Es werden zwei (2) baugleiche Kranmodule beschafft.
