In den letzten Jahren hat sich der Zustand der Strecke zwischen Gamsen und Stuckiegga zunehmend verschlechtert. Mit kleinem baulichem Unterhalt (kbU) können die Schäden nicht mehr repariert werden. Aus diesem Grund muss auf den rund 13.3 Kilometer der gesamte Deckbelag (ca. 210’000m2) ersetzt werden. Die Hauptarbeiten sind für die Jahre 2027 und 2028 geplant.
