APFZ communications and computing platform for rail vehicles

Schweizerische Bundesbahnen SBB Division Produktion Personenverkehr is replacing an obsolete onboard communications platform as mobile networks evolve, to maintain train-to-ground links and support vehicle control and onboard applications.
- Deliverables
- Supply 218 5G-modem computers, 934 5G-modem (RedCap) computers and 79 RedCap computers with I/Os and CAN interface.
- Contract
- Call-off orders with options; one contract if both lots go to the same supplier, otherwise one per lot.
- Eligibility
- Meet SBB supplier qualification criteria and submit the required evidence with the offer.

- Price weighs 60% and quality 40%; product purchase costs alone weigh 45%.

Das APFZ-System in den Fahrzeugen übernimmt wichtige Aufgaben wie die Fahrgastinformation. Da die heutige Kommunikationsplattform veraltet ist und die Mobilfunknetze laufend weiterentwickelt werden, muss das System modernisiert werden. Geplant ist die Beschaffung einer neuen Kommunikations- und Rechnerplattform für Schienenfahrzeuge. Diese soll die Datenverbindung zwischen Fahrzeug und den Systemen an Land sicherstellen, die Kommunikation mit der Fahrzeugsteuerung ermöglichen und genügend Rechenleistung für Anwendungen im Fahrzeug bereitstellen. Gesucht wird eine kompakte und robuste Lösung ohne Lüfter, die für den Bahnbetrieb geeignet ist. Die Plattform soll moderne 5G-Technologie, die benötigten Schnittstellen sowie ein langfristig verfügbares Produkt- und Supportkonzept bieten.
