Der Abschnitt Verzweigung Luterbach -Verzweigung Härkingen der Nationalstrasse N1 wird von 4 auf 6 Fahrstreifen ausgebaut. Zusammen mit dem Ausbau wird die bestehende Infrastruktur umfassend Instand gestellt. Durch das Ausbauvorhaben entsteht ein Verlust von Fruchtfolgeflächen. Im Kanton Bern soll dieser Verlust mit dem Kauf von Rechten an baulich aufgewerteten Fruchtfolgeflächen (FFF) kompensiert werden.
