Aktuell befinden sich zahlreiche Varianten von Ladegeräten im Einsatz. Dabei hat jeder Akkutyp sein eigenes Ladegerät. Zudem weisen diese nur eine geringe Anzahl an Ladebuchten auf und sind wenig robust für den Einsatz im Feld. Für diese Formationen sollen robuste, multifunktionale Ladegeräte in drei einheitlichen Ausführungen (KLEIN, MITTEL und GROSS) beschafft werden, die das gleichzeitige Laden mehrerer typengleicher oder unterschiedlicher Akkus ermöglichen.
