Federal Act on the Internal Market

Federal act intended to secure free and equal access to the Swiss internal market.

The Internal Market Act is meant to secure free and equal access to the Swiss market across the country. In procurement, it matters most for cantonal and municipal markets where internal market access still needs to be protected.

It does not replace procurement law. It complements federal and cantonal procurement rules with minimum market-access requirements, especially outside the scope of international agreements.

For bidders, it becomes relevant when market access restrictions at cantonal or municipal level need to be assessed or challenged.
